Extensions make Google Chrome failed the Acid3 Test

Screen_shot_2010-03-22_at_04

Google Chrome

This is an unacceptable problem!

I found that some extensions will affect the Google Chrome rendering result. I did a simple test, open the Acid3 Test in both normal and Incognito mode. You can't believe that Chrome failed the test in normal mode, but it should able to pass it! It got 100/100 in Incognito windows, but there is a link test error.

I disabled all the extensions and tested them one by one. The murderer is Docs PDF/PowerPoint Viewer, an extension created by Google! Same problem occurred in Windows too.

This is totally unbelievable that an extension can change the behaviour of browser rendering engine. As a web developer, I can't trust whatever any layout I get from Chrome.

Similar problem was reported since December, 2009. Let's see when will it be fixed. -_-||
